| The Ontario Cultural Society of the Deaf has a new set of Board members, standing tall and proud on ship OCSD. On the deck we stand to announce our commitment and perseverance to bring about our goals and aspirations forth and set sail into new horizons to bring together old connections and new beginnings. Together, we can build bridges and create connections; one of our most important missions is to promote Deaf heritage and share information about Deaf culture & Sign Language, our birthright to our natural Language (ASL/LSQ) and Deaf people’s way of life.

Mission Statement |
 |
 | | |
| Ontario Cultural Society of the Deaf is a registered charitable organization, consisting of membership open to interested Deaf and Hearing individuals.
The Society is currently making changes to develop its capability to cultivate better cross-cultural understanding. To accomplish this challenging need, it has set up a trust fund.
This trust fund will make possible cultural-bridging activities in advancement of the Society's goals such as:
- information and instruction on Deaf Culture
- strong family ties for parents and their deaf child
- traditional school of the deaf and its educational activities
- strengthening the Deaf community and its culture
- supporting development of Deaf cultural arts
- assistance to the Deaf in developing countries
The Society will endeavour to preserve deaf culture and heritage, to make understood how they work for a deaf child or adult as a member of society, to enrich the culture and heritage, and to celebrate them.

History of O.C.S.D |
 |
 | | |
| In 1974 the Ontario Cultural Society of the Deaf (OCSD) was affiliated with the Canadian Cultural Society of the Deaf to promote Deaf culture and heritage in Ontario and encourage Deaf people's contributions to the fields of art, drama and literature. OCSD was formally established in 1980 and incorporated in 1987. In recent years, we have made great strides in our work to strengthen family ties between parents and their Deaf children and increase opportunities for the formal study of American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture. | |
